Stephen's Commons is a 73-unit building providing affordable apartments to seniors ages 62 and above. The design promotes active engagement both within the building and the neighborhood. The heart of the building is an active circulation loop that links resident community spaces, a lush rooftop deck, and a ground-level garden path, while street-facing common areas, exterior seating, and pedestrian-friendly streetscaping connect the development to its surroundings.

The site occupies what was previously a vacant parcel only three blocks from the Wilson CTA station. Stephen Somuah, as Lakeview Towers West Resident Association, Inc. (LVTRA) president, made the bold move to acquire land next to Lake View Towers, creating vital affordable housing in the rapidly gentrifying Uptown neighborhood. This achievement was named in his honor.

All units are affordable with a mix of 10 studios, 49 one-beds, and 14 two-bedroom apartments. The ground floor offers 44 parking spaces that are shared with the adjacent Lakeview Towers.
