CHICAGO, IL

The Foglia Residences at The Chicago Lighthouse

Mixed-Income, Supportive + Cultural TOD

IN PROGRESS

The Chicago Lighthouse Residences will be the first LIHTC building in the country for the blind. An innovative mixed-income, transit-oriented development in the heart of the Illinois Medical District, The Chicago Lighthouse Residences is only a short walk to the Polk Pink Line El station and major bus routes along Damen, Ashland, and Roosevelt. This transit access is especially critical for the building’s blind residents who rely on buses and trains for access to jobs and resources.

The 9-story, 76-unit building is funded by the City of Chicago and located on land donated by The Chicago Lighthouse (TCL). TCL is a nonprofit that is the largest employer of persons with visual disabilities in Illinois and provides a wide variety of services on site. The residents of our building will be able to take advantage of all of their resources to get on the path to independence and self-sufficiency.
